Hydrostatic Compressible Euler Equations aren't working

It seems that we currently haven't turned on the hydrostatic equations in our hydrostatic examples, and when I tried to do so as part of #541, I got some failures when:

• setting up the hydrostatic term
• at the first explicit forcing step (once the above was fixed)
