1/2 speed playback and media stopping...?

Since a reinstall - partially complete - of the server on a new machine the entries under Schedules & Catch Up > LBC UK and perhaps others (Andrew Marr being most important to me, but also Lewis Goodall - importance to me being irrelevant of course) seem to be playing at 1/2 speed and so, unintelligible.

Also, may or may not be related but started with the same reinstall, Podcasts > The New Agents > [some particular date] stop randomly and has to be restarted - same goes for The Rest Is Politics (guess I'm disclosing my politics with this report...) and I guess all podcasts.

The Live Playlists and Radio seem to play as expected - but, I don't listen to those so I've only dipped my toe in.

Any ideas?

The Global catchup radio is (unusually) in MPEG-4 format. Unlike the live radio, this plugin just passes the URL to LMS to play, it doesn't get involved in the streaming itself. So the problem lies in your LMS server or your player. I expect it's in your player.

I suggest changing your LMS server settings so that it handles MPEG-4 rather than your player. Go to your Server-Settings->File Types and change where its says MPEG-4 - AAC - Native. Change "Native" to "disabled".

Then start playing a new stream again and you should find your server handles the AAC decoding and transcodes it to FLAC, which your player will have no problem with.

If that doesn't solve the problem, please let me know your LMS server version and what you player type.

Many thanks - transcoding rings a bell - probably one of those settings that's making the reinstall only partially complete...

But, to be clear, this:

Seems to me to suggest for instance that an MPEG-4 file type (what's being sent from Global catch-up radio) is being converted to format FLAC for streaming to players - isn't that what's desired? (I don't have AAC in my list of stream formats.)

(BTW, what does the 'From' column refer to?)

Ah, that looks like where your problem lies, your server doesn't seem to be able to handle MPEG-4 AAC. As you rightly point out, it's not in the list. That's very odd.
What LMS version is this and what OS and hardware is this installed on ?

So, should I open a bug with LMS and close this? My LMS is one update behind, other than that I've not taken anything away, afaik.

I think you should post on the forum, you are more likely to get help there. Essentially, I find your config odd, you don't seem to be able to play FLAC or AAC natively. I've no experience of LMS on docker, but something is not right there.
I would post on the forum and ask why the MPEG-4 AAC content at 22khz sample rate (which the Global on demand content is) is behaving oddly. 22khz sample rate is unusual, I suspect your server is transcoding to PCM which would explain why it is playing at half speed, as I seem to remember that the sample rate can't be identified in PCM)

Anyway, you are right this isn't a bug in the plugin, it is just passing the URL to LMS to play. sorry I couldn't help.

If you play a global player catch up programme what does it say in "more info" menu for the item playing?
On Material skin, you can click on the now playing picture, click on the three dots in the bottom right corner of the picture, then select "more", then select "more info" from that menu. It should look like this:

I suspect you have a transcoding problem, the info in there should tell us what's happening.
