Maybe its just me, but it is not immediately obvious to me how to set up my environment to use this tool, nor how to use it once it is set up. A README.md file with some steps to follow would be great. I'd be happy to submit one if I could get it working.
Is this the basic steps?
- Install Profile Tool plugin in QGIS
- Select "Plugins" from menu bar, then "Profile Tool" then "Terrain profile"
- Add an appropriate layer that provides elevation data. (Tips on where to get this would be great)
- Select the first point on the canvas.
- Select N add'l points on the canvas. Right click when done (I think?)
- You should have an elevation profile image in the "Profile Tool" now. You can export it using the 'Save as' button.
