The folder lists_out contains csv files of the Read code lists used in my PhD project.
Most of these were derived from previously published lists, given in lists_in. Each of the subfolders within contains a README with a link to the publication or repository where I found the list.
The folder scripts contains the R scripts used to takes files from lists_in and produce the files in lists_out. Usually, this is just a case of combining and harmonising different lists (I needed lists including both version 2 and 3, but many of the lists only included one version). However, in some cases I make manual additions or omissions from the lists. For example, I constructed some of the code lists in lists_in/Elsie to be over inclusive, so that I could then go through them with a clinician and reduce them to a more specific list of codes. If you're interested in using any of the Read code lists in lists_out for your own research, I would recommend checking the corresponding scripts to ensure you agree with any alterations I may have made.
Extra things to note:
- as this work is still in progress, many of the scipts still need to be tidied and fully annotated
- scripts include code used to prodoce LaTex tables of the codelists for the appendix of my thesis
