picture item empty

Hi,

When I use docling document in JSON I have pictureitem where the image is always null.

But I have some images in the result docling document.

What is wrong? How can I get them? Is there a bug?

Your first picture shows the image data of page 1 of the document, where the image is the fully rendered page. The item traversal function traverses the document items, but not the pages themselves. Could you check whether the image field at path #/pictures/0 of that JSON document is actually null?

Docling can be configured to populate the image field of picture items in various way. In docling-serve UI these are the Image Export Mode options.
