It might be desirable for us to have our own mailing list software. Not only would this make managing our mailing list easier (right now we have to submit a ticket to IT for every change of membership), but it would potentially allow us to create several different lists (announcements for outsiders, a list for core developers, etc).
Doing this will require interacting with IT to get it set up. We'd probably have to use the main VTC mail server(s) for forwarding, etc. Ideally we would want to do this without creating any additional firewall holes.
