Just curious if the new kernel in Ubuntu 25.10 influences your experiment.

I am not aware of any additional mitigations introduced in the Linux kernel or enabled in Ubuntu 25.10 that would mitigate this issue. The issue was mitigated in a microcode update, though, so you need to make sure that your microcode version is old enough to not have the fix.

Otherwise, I'd say it is likely that the reverse-engineering experiments will work on Ubuntu 25.10 too but I have not tested it myself. The end2end attack will surely not work since we developed it for the very specific kernel binary referenced in the paper and other binaries would need different spectre gadgets.
