On Fdroid you need to enable 18+ apps in the settings, can't quite remember where, but it is in the same section as nonfree license.

I'm repeating some info that I got from @clragon about this issue on discord. Our app was marked as NSFW by f-droid a while back. Because of some states having more stringent legal restrictions on any NSFW apps, F-droid recently made the decision to remove all NSFW apps. There could be some change in this state of affairs. For one, we hold that our app is not NSFW as it's just a browser for sites running the e621ng software (https://github.com/e621ng/e621ng), and we plan to re-submit our app to their repos while making it clear that we are not NSFW.

There is also some discussion about changing their NSFW policy on their gitlab (https://gitlab.com/fdroid/admin/-/work_items/252). I don't know if there is going to be any traction to this however and it seems most of the discussion is about religious related apps, and I'll send updates when I know more.

In the meantime, we recommend downloading updates from our github. There is a great tool called obtainium (https://f-droid.org/en/packages/dev.imranr.obtainium.fdroid/), that will automatically parse updates from github for you and notify you about updates. I'm going to talk with @clragon about getting it added as a recommendation to our readme.

That is very interesting I thought the optional "Show NSFW Apps" anti-feature toggle already covered that

If F-Droid doesn't put it back online could you consider an alternative repo?

The other major repo I can think of is IzzyOnDroid, which have a similar Inclusion policy (https://izzyondroid.org/docs/general/AppInclusionPolicy/). They could rule that our app is not NSFW however, this is an option we could look into if F-Droid rejects our request.

The only other option I can think of is to host our own repository. I know that this is what newpipe does (https://newpipe.net/FAQ/tutorials/install-add-fdroid-repo/). Running a standard repository takes a lot of effort and this is definitely an option we want to avoid. I plan to post on the F-Droid forum to see if anyone has an NSFW repo spinning up, in the event that we need it.

For right now, the official solution is to use obtainium and I have a pr for instructions already awaiting approval. If you would like to follow those instructions see (#184)

The other thing to note is that the NSFW tag is now completely redundant. If you look at the tag, there is not a single app that it applies to (https://monitor.f-droid.org/anti-feature/NSFW) and it is a dead tag at this time.
