Additional Information

The behavior of the profile editor modal differs from the create post modal in two significant ways:

  1. There is no confirmation when cancelling after entering information.
  2. Releasing the mouse button over the backdrop triggers a cancel.

Oddly enough, I "fixed" it when I tried dragging from the backdrop to the modal. As long as I released the mouse on a part of the modal other than the description text box, it didn't dismiss the modal. After that, I could select text in the text box, even dragging the selection off the modal, without the modal closing. The "fix" persisted until I closed the modal by either clicking the cancel button or intentionally clicking the backdrop. However, the "fix" seemed to reset when the modal opened or closed, so I was able to repeat the process multiple times to confirm this behavior.
