Border colors

Is there any way to change the border color for the widgets. For example, text inputs when selected have a purple border. I wanted to change this to match my apps style. Would it come under the 'color' parameter in pack style?

EDIT: It is not the 'color' parameter, this changes the inside text color

I assume you're talking about Android, in which case the theme colors can be set in your pyproject.toml file using these Briefcase options.

Like most of the other options on that page, you'll need to re-run briefcase create android to make them take effect.

Also - generally speaking, you're going to find limited options for changing the color of widgets in Toga. Some control does exist -but Toga philosophically discourages extensive modification of the app's color palette.

Toga is, by explicit design, a native widget toolkit. It strongly encourages you to use the native colors for widgets. If the platform allows for customisation (e.g., GTK's themes, or Android's base color palettes, or Dark mode on macOS/Windows/iOS), then those color options will be surfaced as part of the platform. There are some limited controls for color and background color, but these should be considered mechanisms for emphasis and minor style tweaks (e.g., making a "big red stop button"), not the basis for whole-of-app theming.

Frankly - if you don't like the colors that your operating system uses for widgets - get another operating system. It's not the role of an app to change how a widget appears to the user. Consistency between apps is a cornerstone of platform usability, and when an app designer makes arbitrary choices to change platform defaults, that has an impact on usability.

This is, admittedly, an opinionated position. However, it is a foundational position of Toga as a widget toolkit. If you disagree with that position, then Toga is possibly not the widget toolkit you want.
