Senior Backend Engineer

Company: TechStart Inc.

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing team. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing scalable microservices, optimizing database performance, and mentoring junior developers.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in backend development
- Strong proficiency in Python and Django
- Experience with PostgreSQL and database optimization
- Knowledge of microservices architecture
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization
- Experience with RESTful API design
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Experience with caching solutions (Redis, Memcached)

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement RESTful APIs using Django REST Framework
- Optimize database queries and improve application performance
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software
- Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews
- Participate in architectural decision-making
- Ensure code quality through testing and documentation

Nice to have:
- Experience with event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Knowledge of GraphQL
- Experience with AWS or GCP cloud platforms
- Background in distributed systems
