Hello,

I would like to request an official project deb repository with the latest versions. Reason? Debian repositories always have older versions and people who want to use aMule want to be on the latest version probably.

Thanks for the request — the underlying need ("I want the latest aMule, not whatever the distro froze") is fair, but an official APT repository isn't something we plan to run.

The good news is that's already covered. aMule ships official, always-latest Linux binaries that don't depend on your distro's package freeze:

• AppImage (x86_64 and aarch64) — download, chmod +x, run. Always the latest release.
• Flatpak (x86_64 and aarch64) — bundles its own dependencies, so it's current regardless of your distro.

Both are on the latest release page, and a Flathub listing is in progress so flatpak install will be even simpler.

An official .deb APT repo is a different level of ongoing commitment — per-distro and per-architecture packages, each matched to that release's exact library versions, plus GPG signing and hosting, repeated every release. That's precisely the maintenance burden AppImage and Flatpak are designed to avoid by bundling dependencies. Native Debian/Ubuntu .deb packaging is best left to the distro maintainers, who already track aMule downstream.

If someone in the community wants to maintain an OBS-based repo for convenience, that's welcome as a community effort — but it wouldn't be official.

I get your point but AppImage and Flatpak don't scale very well for embedded devices / headless versions and they create other performance and deployment size burdens.
