That really all depends on what the switch is seen as by Windows. A switch is not something DirectInput knows and thus different manufacturers implement switches differently. In some cases an on-off switch turns into two buttons and in other cases it's just a single button. Furthermore, it also depends what the game provides with regards to supporting dedicated actions vs. just toggles. For your example in SC you actually have both a "deploy landing system" and "retract landing system" binding which is preferable over the "toggle landing system" for your use case. Case 1: on-off are two buttons Case 2: on-off button is a single button Before trying to use any of that you should verify with the Input Viewer if you get the expected behavior. Also if you're not using HidHide to hide the physical device from SC you will need to use it, or manually create the binding file via some third party tool as you won't be able to bind this directly in game. |

*Case 1: on-off are two buttons*
Create a Macro action on each of them that presses and then releases a
vJoy button that you then bind to deploy and landing
*Case 2: on-off button is a single button*
Create two Macro actions on that single button that again press and
release the two vJoy buttons you'll bind in-game. However, you will have to
change the "activation" mode of one of the Macro actions to "Release"
rather than "Press". Which one depends on how the switch states are mapped.
Before trying to use any of that you should verify with the Input Viewer
if you get the expected behavior. Also if you're not using HidHide to hide
the physical device from SC you will need to use it, or manually create the
binding file via some third party tool as you won't be able to bind this
directly in game.
