Monitor dimensions for width/height-filling windows

Is there a recommended way to make a window fill the height/width of any monitor it's placed on? A width like 10000 kinda works if not anchored to the left or right, but for 60000 rendering breaks and for u32::MAX there's a multiplication overflow panic.

Hey @zea64, It is odd. You are putting in 60000 as width (monitor of that width doesn't exist). The ultrawide monitors have total pixels around 11 million. Can you send the error message with RUST_BACKTRACE=full env var. I think I maybe misunderstanding something here.

Ah I probably should've explained better. I set the width as the max width I'll ever need just in case because I'd like to fit any possibly monitor, but idk what a good number for that is. Here's the backtrace for the u32::MAX crash, and the 60000 width doesn't actually panic it just breaks.

My real question is just how I ensure my window is exactly the width of the monitor it's on, and the high width values were just a hack I found to kinda sorta do that, but that comes with other issues like anything not center-aligned being off screen. I don't see any obvious way to get monitor dimensions neither before nor after creating a window. If that is indeed the case, I see that WindowConf explicitly bans 0 in either dimension, so that would be a good sentinel value for monitor width/height.

It is best to query wayland for the monitor width of your monitor.
Maybe it is a good idea to expose the information from all the monitors (position, size, name, etc...) from spell itself (as it is already being queried)

Yeah, particularly for bars this would make spell much nicer to use

I have been a victim of this issue myself. Never gave much thought to it. I can set the width and height to monitor size if zero is provided. But that would require the fetching of output monitor size even in the case of default output running. Yet, it would be great if you can open an issue. I would weigh the tradeoffs and think of something optimal to implement.
