[BUG] Admin Version Display not working correctly

Describe the Bug:

The version display shows the fallback "dev-build" when built via the command line or the CI Pipeline

Reproducibilty:

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior:

login as admin, bottom of navigation bar

Expected Behavior:

show the current release or commit

Actual Behavior:

fallback "dev-build"
