Description
To reproduce make a new document with the following html content:
<p>If an on-call provider fails to respond to a call or responds by phone and declines to accept a patient or come in to see a patient when requested by the ED physician:<br/>\n<br/>\r\n5.1 The ED physician shall immediately contact the Administrator on Call (AOC), ED Medical Director or Chief Medical Director, and/or Medical Staff President to intervene. These individuals shall make additional efforts to get the on-call provider to discharge his obligations and warn him of the consequences of failure to do so, which include the possible suspension of privileges.<br/>\n<br/>\r\n5.2 If the efforts fail, the above individuals will attempt to locate another appropriate provider to care for the patient.<br/>\n<br/>\r\n5.3 They will initiate an request for corrective action against the on-call provider in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws.<br/>\n<br/>\r\n5.4 In the event no alternate provider can be found and therefore the patient must be transferred, the name and address of the non-responding on-call provider will be entered into the medical record and sent to the receiving facility.</p>
