time step of icar

Hi, when I run model, its time step is so small such as 0.23s, What might be causing it or what can be done about it, thank you

That can happen if the wind speeds are VERY fast or the grid spacing is very small (including in the vertical dimension). Typical time steps on a ~4km horizontal grid are 20-60s. The settings for the wind physics can affect this too.
