Chinese Translation Problem

When "localize" is enabled, numerous "stringnotfound" errors appear, and some NPCs lack interaction UI, preventing conversation. However, after unchecking "localize", while the "stringnotfound" errors are gone, the text is replaced by "???", and although the NPC interaction UI appears, their names also show as "???". I reviewed the discussion regarding the Russian translation, but that solution isn't relevant to the Chinese issue.

Try using the String Localization Tester here

If you punch in a specific record you know is misbehaving, you can get a bit of a readout.

I added the Language setting for you to use to target Chinese testing if that's more useful (was hardcoded to english before)

Thank you for your reply. I'd be happy to assist with the testing, but I'm not very familiar with programming. Where should the files in StringLocalizationTester be placed, and how do I use them?

It's a synthesis patcher you can install like other synthesis patchers. It just doesn't modify anything in the patch.. it just prints info for testing. Just put it at the start of the run before any other patchers, adjust the settings in the UI, and run it like any synthesis patcher

I apologize for taking up your time. It turned out to be an issue on my end. When I opened the .NET download link, I saw there were two versions available. I had been using .NET 8.0, but then I noticed that .NET 9.0 is actually the recommended version. After installing it, the problem was resolved.

By the way, there's a minor issue with this String Localization Tester: when I try to enter an EditorID in the target record, it freezes for a long time, likely because it's searching through the entire modlist. I'm not criticizing—just providing some feedback.

And yeah, the UI picker isn't hyper optimized. Im sure it could do a bit more to be snappy. But even xEdit itself freezes searching EDIDs, haha. It's a heavy operation
