App: Live Translation (com.mentra.translation)
Glasses: Even Realities G2
Issue: When "Transcribe language" is set to Vietnamese and "Translate language" is set to Korean (or other non-English targets), the app silently outputs English instead of the selected target language. Every other tested source language (English, French, Japanese, Chinese) translates correctly to Korean — only Vietnamese as a source fails to reach non-English targets.
Steps to reproduce:
Open Live Translation app settings
Set Transcribe language = Vietnamese
Set Translate language = Korean
Speak Vietnamese near the mic
Observe: glasses display English translation instead of Korean
Expected behavior:
Vietnamese speech should translate directly to Korean (or whichever target is selected), consistent with other source languages.
Suspected cause:
This looks like a limitation in the underlying speech-translation engine's language matrix — Vietnamese as a source may only be supported for translation into English, with no direct route to other targets, causing a silent fallback to the default English translateLanguage.
Request:
Please add support for Vietnamese → Korean (and ideally Vietnamese → other non-English targets) in the speech translation pipeline, or surface an error/warning in the app when an unsupported language pair is selected instead of silently falling back to English.
Thanks for the great open-source project!
