Permalinks for all profiles/datasets are automatically created but we don't do anything to track when/if they are used. This makes things like reporting where gEAR is cited difficult.
We need to add a logging mechanism for when permalinks are used and the referral URL so we can do these kinds of statistics.
The recorder should ignore options like gene lists included and focus only on the data source.
