[Question, contributing] Implementation of the current diffusion equation

Hi,

I'm undertaking a project this summer in a research group studying (among other things) plasma physics for fusion. I'm interested in the Current diffusion equation item on the feature roadmap. Would there be any interest in me trying to build such an implementation?

I haven't contributed here before so I'm of course happy to tackle a smaller improvement first as I get to grips with the codebase (recommendations welcome).

If this is something I could work on, I'd be keen to know what maintainers would like from this, how people would like it to be structured, what features would be most desired... basically, any ideas that people already have to inform the direction.

Thanks for getting in touch - good to hear you're interested in contributing!

We've already made a fair bit of progress behind the scenes on getting the current diffusion equation coupled in so probably not worth spending too much time looking in that direction. Hopefully we'll be able to report some progress on that in the near future.

One thing we'd like to see tested more is whether the virtual PCS (recently implemented in PR #64) can be adapted to work for other tokamak geometries and plasmas - if this is something you're interested in you could give it a try!
