Upscale doesn't work on NixOS as gowall uses shared libraries.

It seems like gowall fetches an upscaler (realesrgan-ncnn-vulkan) and runs that, but it doesn't work in NixOS as dynamically linked executables are not supported by NixOS.

edit: Gowall 0.2.0 from nixpkgs-unstable, if relevent.

Interesting, i guess i will make it so Nix users can optionally install the original from here and then automatically detect the binary.

I guess this will be scheduled for the next release in a week and a half or so when v.0.2.1 drops

Gowall can now detect the binary from $PATH , im not really familiar with how NixOS does things but i'm guessing that stuff in /nix/store get symlinked to something that is inside the $PATH so hopefully as of 38f0403 its fixed (well as long as you have installed realesrgan ).

Oh yeah, it does work now, but only if realesrgan-ncnn-vulkan is installed, via nix-shell or otherwise.
An even better approach would be to create an ad-hoc shell environment for realesrgan if the user doesn't have it installed.

To save you the trouble of reading the docs, we're having gowall do nix-shell -p realesrgan-ncnn-vulkan --run <command>.
This would be simpler, because for someone who doesn't have it installed, it will install it temporarily and run the <command> before exiting.
If someone already has the package installed, we don't need to do any nix-shell shenanigans. It's just a matter of more reproducibility and not having the user do much.

P.S: In case you didn't know what nix-shell does, it simply downloads a program temporarily to /nix/store and symlinks it to the path for the current shell only.
